Base Communication Representatives to close the communication gap
10 Participants for the Southern Cape Region in the Western Cape Province completed the training of the Base Communication Representative (BCR) during 9 – 11 November 2015.
The Base Communication Representative (BCR) will be the direct communication/awareness link between the Communication Cluster and the specific base. Information regarding events, resources and awareness will feed down from the Communications Cluster to the BCR and vice versa.
The BCR t raining, a p i l o t project in the Western Cape to develop effective communication at base level, was hosted by the Western Cape. BRC’s were equipped with various skills such as writing skills, presentation skills and etiquette, photography, resource management, Coordinate school and community based fire awareness activities, base profile management, and Community and Fire awareness workshop training.
Congratulations to Johnniel Afrika, Emile Jacobs, Sphokazi Sebezo, Ziyanda Mbombela, Alexonia Nel, Tobias Williams, Lunga Makhanda, Reagan Rademeyer, Jessica Jantjies and Bonginkosi Mazala on becoming the first Base Communication Representatives within Working on Fire.
