Elliot base firefighter promoted to Human Resource Assistant

Hard work pays, said Khuthazo Mhletywa a former firefighter from Elliot base after he was appointed to be the new Human Resource Assistant.

“I matriculated in 2007 and after that I enrolled with Ikhala FET College where I did my Human Resource Course, however it was not easy to find a job,” Mhletywa said.

His luck changed in 2014 when Working on Fire recruited him to be a firefighter.

“I was so excited as I had been without a job for a long time,” he explained to WOF News. Mhletywa said that after being a firefighter for a year Working on Fire has given him so many opportunities.

“Last year I was selected to go to Indonesia and it was a life time opportunity as I learnt so much in Indonesia,” he said.

Mhletywa resumed his new position as the HR Assistant early this month. I would like to advise our firefighters to work hard so that great opportunities come their way.
