Firefighter dreams of being a video editor
Vuyolwethu Sikete is a dedicated young man who would like to develop his skill in video editing.
Sikete says that since he was in school he always had a dream to be the Video Editor. The 23 year old man passed his matric in 2013 and joined Working on Fire (WOF) in 2014.
He was recruited in Fort Donald base in the Eastern Cape and was happy to hear that the WOF Communications Department has a Video Unit. Sikete said he saw this as an opportunity to develop his video editing skills.
Before joining WOF Sikete did video editing work at TM Studio music in Mount Ayliff where his love for video editing developed. To practice his craft Sikete takes video clips of his team’s activities and edit using Sony Vegas pro 12 and 13.
“In future I would like to see myself assisting the WOF video unit and edit videos for WOF TV News,” he said.
Sikete is currently saving some of his monthly stipend to buy equipment to better his skill.
