Naledi and Vaalkop teams in the North West Province welcomed back their crew members Boipuso Mthimkhulu and Joas Matlapeng who were part of the South African team deployed in Indonesia to help fight raging fires.

Matlapeng received many heartfelt and inspiring notes written by his team mates on his return to the base with one of them reading “Mr Matlapeng you put everything aside and went out there to do the job, not only a job but a job that saves lives and requires bravery and strong passion. Therefore we would like to tell you, you’re the best amongst the best, thank you for representing us well and also putting North West Province on the map.”

Speaking to the type 1 crew leader of Vaalkop, Thapelo Petlele, said: “We are very happy and proud of them for what they have done and even more happier for them to arrive back home safe and sound with no injuries.
