KZN Teams go all out to prevent fires

3 Aug,2016Fire Awareness, WoF service

A number of teams from the province have been putting in fire prevention measures at communities they have identified as high fire risk areas.

The aim is to ensure these areas experience fewer or no fires at all during this fire season. The Utrecht, Ingogo, Kokstad and Normandien teams have been constructing firebreaks, and conducting line construction and fuel load reduction at Buffels Hoek mountains, Emlwane Farm, Highlands Farm at Harding, Balele Game Park and Neck Farm.

The teams will continue conducting prevention activities and fire awareness workshops to ensure communities are ready for this fire season and know what to do in case of a fire.
