Mpumalanga launches Winter Fire Season

Working on Fire in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Management Centre and the Umbrella Fire Protection Association launched their 2015 Mpumalanga Winter Fire Season in Mbombela on the 26 June 2015.

The WoF General Manager, Martin Bolton, said at the launch that his fire fighters have been well trained and are ready for the fire season.

“Let us remain vigilant and be safe during this fire season”, Martin said.

The Mpumalanga Acting Premier, Vusi Shongwe, who delivered the keynote address said that he was impressed by the discipline of the WoF fire fighters and he wished them well for the fire season.

“These fire fighters provide an essential service to the province in protecting our environment and their commitment are appreciated by the Mpumalanga government”, he said.
