The 18 North West vehicle managers who attended and passed the training were taught vehicle water delivery, pumps practical demonstration, hand signals and hose lays which will fully equip them when fighting fires.
According to the North West Provincial Transport Officer, Meshack Mogapi, the drivers were assessed in physical training, night driving, fitness training such as power walk and push ups amongst other activities which will have a huge impact in their driving skills.
Pieter Esterhuizen the driving instructor from the Action Saver driving school at the drivers training camp said the purpose of the training was to make sure they refresh the drivers properly and think to a point of a vehicle manager, to make sure they go on the road with the right attitude and the right spirit. “I must say the outcome was exceptional as all of them did very well,” added Pieter.
