HAT Celebrates 10 years of specialized ecosystem restoration

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment’s (DFFE) Working on the Fire High-Altitude Teams (HAT) Project is celebrating a huge milestone this year. Since 2011, HAT has been making a remarkable difference. Skilled and professionally trained young men and women remove invasive alien plants from less accessible

areas such as cliffs and steep slopes: restoring ecosystems, decreasing fire frequency and increasing water supply. The Project has grown from strength to strength and continues to make a difference in the lives of its participants and the environment. .
