The Suikerbos Team in Gauteng has recently become the top performing team nationally, for their fire awareness programmes within the community. It obtained the number one spot and in the process the team received an award of R1000.

Sipho Dhladhla, Fire Awareness Training Officer for Gauteng, said that he felt honored that his team was chosen for having performed the best nationally.

The Crew Leader of the Suikerbos Team, Tebogo Sebeso, said that the monitory incentive will boast the morale of the team to perform even better in the next few months.

‘‘The award will motivate other teams’ country wide to take the fire awareness programmes quite serious. We really feel impressed as a team,’’ said Tebogo.

Sipho said that they needed to salute and appreciate the support of the ground operations in the province as they all worked as a team.

‘‘Without the support of the ground operations the team wouldn’t have won the award,’’ said a jubilant Sipho
