Working on Fire’s Bloemfontein staff recently participated in the Action Sports indoor soccer and netball winter leagues as part of the staff’s teambuilding activities.

The WOF soccer team managed to reach the final, a 15-minute contest to prove who was worthy of the gold.

Although the opponents led for most of the game, the WOF team managed to net a series of goals and won the match, much to the jubilation of fellow staff members and the WOF netball team who were there to support and cheer them on.

“As the netball team we didn’t do so well. At the end of the league we were at the bottom with 12 games played and no wins. It was the first time some of us had played netball and they didn’t know the rules. But we eventually learned and even learned how to play with each other. We managed to understand each other differently and we enjoyed it a lot,” says Glauria Motsoeneng.

“We took part in the Action Sport Winter Games for teambuilding as provincial staff.

We played four-a-side and there were six teams in the mini-league. We won the semifinals and went to the finals where we won. We enjoyed ourselves,” says Petrus Motholo, the soccer team captain.
