WoF participates at 6th Women and the Environment Dialogue
The Department of Environmental Affairs hosted their Annual 6th Women and the Environment Dialogue in Pretoria West to tackle opportunities and challenges facing women in the environment. WoF participants was present to engage on how women can continue to benefit in the Department’s transition towards the green economy.
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs, Ms Barbara Thomson opened the Sixth Women and Environment Dialogue in Pretoria, Gauteng. In delivering the keynote address the Deputy Minister said, “Since the advent of democracy and freedom South Africa has seen a number of women taking up leadership positions in areas previously dominated by men.”
Working on Fire also had an exhibition stand at the Conference and many women were excited to learn about the progress of women participants in WoF.
