Support Socio-Economic Needs of WOF EPWP Children

WOF Kids

The WOF Kids Project supports the socio-economic needs of children from WOF EPWP participants and other vulnerable groups.

WOF Kids Care Packages

Contribute to the WOF Kids Care Packages by donating funds or essential items to support children in need. This annual initiative helps ease the financial burden many parents face during December and January, ensuring every child has a meaningful Christmas and the necessary school supplies for their education.

These packages are tailored for each age group, from newborns to 18-year-olds. Join WOF management and partners in spreading joy by donating an annual care package to a WOF Kid —your generosity can help us reach even more children in need.

A typical R200 care package includes:

  • Toiletries
  • Blanket
  • Clothing
  • Toys or books
  • School Stationery
  • Snacks

WOF Boy Scouts Program

The WOF Boy Scouts, launched in KwaZulu-Natal in 2019, is a mentorship program for boys aged 10 to 18. Rooted in “The Brotherhood,” it fosters practical skills like repairing windows, fixing appliances, and changing car tires, while promoting community learning. The program includes a two-day camp filled with empowering activities and a storytelling session around a fire, encouraging moral growth through oral tradition. Mentored by WOF men, crew leaders, and community members, this intergenerational dialogue and community involvement are central to shaping these young minds.

The WOF Girl Scouts, launched when? Where?, is a mentorship program for girls aged ? to inspire girls to embrace womanhood with confidence, pride, and resilience. Led by female mentors, the program provides a safe space for self-discovery, dream-building, and skill-sharing. Key focus areas include navigating peer pressure, building self-esteem, understanding puberty and sexuality, forming healthy friendships, and focussing on economic independence. Through mentorship and open dialogue, the WOF Girl Scouts initiative equips girls with the tools to face challenges and achieve their goals.

Both programs equip boys and girls with essential skills, fostering growth, empowerment, and a brighter future for all participants.
