POSITION:HOD: Payroll Manager

Job Profile:
The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring wages and salaries are processed on time, accurately.
Reports to:
HCM Executive
Key Performance Areas:
● Designing and implementing payroll policies and procedures
● Managing payroll systems and software and liaising with vendors
● Staying up to date with the latest payroll best practice and new technologies
● Advise Management on statutory changes and requirements
● Working with Auditors to ensure all payroll activity is compliant with regulations and the law
● Reviewing financial data and providing reports and analysis to management
● Processing payroll updates such as appointments, terminations, transfer, and package changes
● Ensuring correct benefits
● Processing yearly wage and salary adjustments
● Able to process Salary and Wages Weekly Payroll from start to finish
● Manage and overseeing the work of the Provincial Payroll Administrators to ensure employees are paid
at the correct rates at the right time
● Processing of Wages Weekly Payroll from start to finish
● Final validation checks of Time and Attendance imports weekly
● Advise on discrepancies of payroll information
● Monitor and identify trends/ patterns in payroll issues and recommend solutions to address the issues
● Sign off Monthly Variance reports
● Liaison with Management and staff regarding all pay queries● Provide and oversee the payroll reports to facilitate DFFE EPWP invoices
Job Requirements:
• Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum five (5) years relevant management working experience
• Understanding of payroll compliance
• Knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations, and legislation
• Working knowledge of advanced level MS Excel
• Working knowledge of HR Information Systems and Payroll System e.g. Sage
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is a must
• Own laptop and cell phone is required

Job Profile:
The Occupational Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the policy, procedures and measurement of occupational health and safety in the workplace. Establish and promote maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions in a business through formulating general safety, fire prevention and health policies and measures.
Reports to:
Operations Executive
Key Performance Areas:
• Establish and maintain and promote safe and healthy working conditions
• Formulate general safety, fire prevention and health policies and measures
• Devise and coordinate safety programs that will increase proficiency in safe working practices and promote safety consciousness
• Assist line management personnel in meeting their obligations under the relevant Occupational Health & Safety legislation, such as ongoing safety education, hazard identification and elimination
• Coordinate ongoing training for safety and environmental awareness at all levels of the workforce and regularly verify that tasks are correctly executed
• Inspect the workplace regularly to audit safety and environmental procedures, and report findings to line management as appropriate
• Investigate accidents, prepare, and maintain required reports. Identify countermeasure to prevent reoccurrence
• Promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and regulatory compliance
• Organize and participate in safety committee activities
• Develop specific safety objectives and create action plans to meet those objectives
• Maintain, review and report safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement along with implementing preventative and corrective action as required
• Manage the OHS team roles on a day-to-day basis to ensure accountability and productivity in line with priorities
Job Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Safety Management
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an OHS environment Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993
• Knowledge of ISO45001
• OHS best practice
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is a must
• Own laptop and cell phone is required

• Competency in leading and OHS team
• Ability to analyse complex situations, identify and prioritise goals, and develop effective plans to achieve them

Job Profile:
Working on Fire, a poverty relief programme is seeking a collaborative Head of Department: Human Resources Manager. The HOD: Human Resources Manager will work directly with the HCM Executive and a team of Human Capital Professionals where you will be responsible to provide an effective and efficient Human Resource function to ensure compliance to organisational policies and procedures.
Reports to:
HCM Executive
Key Performance Areas:
• Ensure effective implementation of the Human Resources strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, and roadmaps.
• Build and manage a high performing HR service delivery team by providing leadership, role clarity, training, and career development.
• Source, induct and manage talent in accordance with legislative guidelines. Manage team (including recruitment, on boarding, attrition)
• Set key performance indicators and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program
• Promote a ‘company centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to develop strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to corporate governance ethos.
• Provide input to and ensure adequate risk mitigation and controls
• Sign-off baseline of service level agreements and key performance indicators
• Review and submit objectives, targets, and budgets for Human Capital service delivery
• Report on a monthly basis to the Executive relating to progress made within Human Capital and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the programme
• Report on an ad hoc basis on specific management requirements as and when necessary
• Support audits conducted both internally and externally
• Manage process standardisation and transformation initiatives for BI system
• Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress, and maintain motivation
• Update and ensure that all employee electronic and paper files are 100% accurate and up to date
• Payroll management and data integration monitoring
• Maintain and update all HR policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring management and staff
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and promotion of staff relations programs
• Maintain sound relationship with representatives from the labour department, and any other government official and service providers
• Monitor internal labour relations trends and submit relevant reports. Remain apprised of all changes or relevant news, and provide analysis and report on same
• Identify and/or evaluate causes of conflict and propose appropriate corrective action
• Draft and review employment contracts and all types of workplace policies
• Ensure that grievances and disciplinary hearing are held in terms of the applicable policy
• Facilitate training and education on matters relating to diversity, unconscious bias, employment equity, disability, and related content
• Responsible for supporting development and implementation of the EE plan
• Help develop EE reporting and monitoring tool, to secure accurate data integrity is maintained
• Track and monitor identified measures to improve EE, by channelling the effectiveness of the committee and its functionalities
Job Requirements:
• Appropriate Degree (HR/IR)
• Minimum five (5) years relevant management working experience
• Subject matter knowledge and expertise (Policy development, EE, Transformation, BBBEE, Diversity)
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is a must
• Ability to travel nationally in line with demands of the role
• Own laptop and cell phone is required
